This week it’s been so hard to stay focused. Life has taken me in places (good places) that I wasn’t expecting to go at this time.

Isn’t that how life goes anyway?

I am so grateful for my daily rituals, support systems, and daily planner. Without them, this would have been a week filled with stress and overwhelm.

Today I’m going to share the rituals, support systems, and planner I use to stay focused when life throws a curve ball.

Here is the main reason you need a system to help you stay on track. Life moves so fast that it’s easy to forget to use the systems that keep you focused on your major outcomes.

Having these systems plugged into your calendar or planner will help you to ride the wave of life with fewer wipeouts. This will enable you to reach your goals faster with less stress.

Three Systems to Stay Focused

Daily Rituals – these are things you do that help you perform from your highest space. They can be whatever you’d like, here are a few examples below of things you can do to stay on top of your A game:

  • Meditation
  • Working out
  • Journaling
  • Morning coffee in silence
  • Taking care of your self-self-care needs
  • Checking email
  • Making sure desk is clean at end of day
  • Shredding docs weekly and filing
  • Checking bank balances and finances daily

Support Systems – these are the people that you can turn to that will remind you of how awesome and capable you are when life has got you up against the wall. Creating a regular system with support will ensure that you just aren’t reaching out when you’re in crises.

  • Mastermind groups
  • Coach
  • Therapist
  • Spouse
  • Best Friend

Planning Systems – these ensure that you know what’s going on in your life and what you need to focus on. Planning systems help you stay committed to what you say matters.

  • Full Focus Planner
  • Google, Outlook, iCal Calendar
  • The Desire Map Planner
  • Trello
  • Wunderlist
  • Asana

How often you check- in with these systems need to be scheduled, do not leave that up to your memory. Yes, creating a system for your systems can feel like a lot. Remember, these are the items that keep you moving in the right direction.

How do you keep up with your systems?
