Tis the season for vision boards and new goals. But here’s a secret, vision boards don’t work.

Here’s why, you don’t have the support you need to see it through.

I said it, support.

Just because you know a thing don’t mean you’ll do a thing. Creating a visual of all the stuff you want to do starts off exciting but without support it quickly becomes an overwhelming reminder of how you’re not performing.

So then you tuck the board away until 3rd quarter, when you take it out and attempt to slay all the goals you set.

I recorded a vlog for Detroit Mom, in it I share the three reasons why vision board parties don’t work.

If you’re ready to stop just building another random board with pretty pictures keep these three things from the video in mind:

  1. Clarity – make sure you’re clear about what’s going on in your life.
  2. Alignment – mask sure the goal you’re creating is in alignment with where you are & how you want to feel at the end of it all.
  3. Accountability –  you can’t reach goals in a bubble. Make sure to find a coach, mentor, or tribe that will hold you accountability and support you during the rough patches.

I’d love to hear from you in the comments below who your support system is for your goals. If you don’t have one yet who would you like to be on your support squad.
